At John Clare, we take care….
As a local, rural school we are a proud to offer a caring, individualised learning environment, in which each and every child feels safe, valued and happy. This atmosphere gives our children the best chance of reaching their full potential and remaining positively engaged in learning. Our school environment enables the staff to really know and nurture our pupils, and to take a genuine interest in their unique backgrounds, skills and interests. We aim to provide every child with experiences and learning opportunities that inspire, excite and challenge them, and that help to prepare them for their bright futures ahead.
We currently have 145 pupils on roll and have 5 mixed-age classes: Buttercross (Reception & Year 1), Woodgate (Year 1 & 2), Broadwheel (Year 3 & 4), Swaddywell (Year 4 & 5) and Torpel (Year 6). The main building comprises a large hall equipped for gymnastics, drama and music, which is also used as a dining area with meals prepared and cooked by our school caterer. Helpston Under 5s share the site and are housed in their own unit.
As a parent I believe there is no better feeling that your child is being looked after to such a level.
It’s good to feel that school and parents are working together.
He loves coming to school and that is a testament to the great teaching and care he gets at John Clare.
I’m very happy with this school; you have made her feel very welcome, thank you.
We value the support and opportunities given to assist our child to reach his potential.
We feel that our child is getting a well rounded education and has been challenged academically in maths and English.
