Dear Parents/carers,
What a busy term we have had in Woodgate. We have done lots of fantastic learning and are all ready for a rest. J I hope you have a wonderful break and that we get lots of sunshine over the holidays J
Reading
Please continue reading with your child over the Easter Holidays. They can read any books from home as well as their school ones. Don’t forget to record when the children read so they can earn their house points.
Learning Logs
Please see the Easter Snapshot due Thursday 19th April and Whole school learning log due Tues 17th April.
PE
PE will continue to take place on Wednesday afternoons and Friday mornings. We will be hoping to go outside if the weather is fine, so please provide your child with a named PE kit and trainers. We are very excited to have the Northern Ballet company coming into school to work with KS1 on Tuesday 24th April. Also, for children who have signed up with the Learn to Ride sessions these will take place the week commencing 23rd April. Children will need to have their PE kit in school and bring their bike to school with them that week.
Water
It is very important that your child does not become dehydrated at school, especially in warm weather. Please ensure that your child has a named water bottle and ensure it is brought to school full of fresh water every day (to avoid the children needing to all fill their bottles on arrival!).
Topic
We will be starting our next mystery book- The Lonely Beast by Chris Judge. Over the term we will be exploring and learning about; monsters, beasts, journeys and underwater creatures. We will also be looking at poetry and newspaper reports. If you have any books, children’s newspapers/ reports or resources that you think will be useful, we would appreciate them
If you have any queries or concerns about your child, please do not hesitate to pop a note in the home contact book or drop in and see us at the end of the school day
We look forward to a happy and exciting Summer term!
Kind regards,
Mrs Keymer and Mrs Good
