Super Scientists!
Published 12/12/25Year 5 had a brilliant visit to the Astra Zencca Inspiration Lab in Cambridge yesterday. The children were immersed in real, hands-on science activities, and had a guided walk through the Discovery Centre, observing researchers and scientists at work.

Year 6 visit London
Published 18/11/25What a brilliant day for Year 6 in London visiting Madam Tussauds and Regents Park to support our learning in History and PSHE. We took a record number of photos, the children were amazing and we all absolutely loved it. Topped off with a lovely lunch in Pizza Express as well as exploring the fantastic St Pancras station. Thank you Year 6 for a beautiful day

Cross Country Winners!
Published 26/09/25What an amazing achievement for John Clare today at the Soke Schools Cross Country event:
Year 3/4 boys team - 1st Place

Year 3/4 girls team - 1st Place

Year 5/6 boys team - 1st Place

Year 5/6 girls team - 1st Place

Overall - 1st Place!
There were some outstanding personal performances, with all the children also working so well as a team and showing fantastic determination, skill and sportsmanship.

KS2 'Dare to Dream'
Published 18/07/25We are so incredibly proud of our Year 6 children; they have sung, danced and Disney has come alive through their phenomenal skills and performance of Disney's 'Dare to Dream' Jnr musical. Outdoor Adventures for Year 4!
Published 04/07/25On Monday 30th June to Tuesday 1st July, our Year 4 children took part in an exciting residential! Fenland Adventure brought the school field to life with lots of adventurous activities, including go-cart building, archery, climbing and many more. The children also slept overnight on the school field in bell-tents and had an absolutely amazing time. This was the first residential we have offered for Year 4 and will definitely become a permanent feature in our trips and visits plan - we have already booked for next year!

A Bramble Patch Adventure!
Published 25/06/25Yesterday, the Buttercross children visited The Bramble Patch, linked with our ‘Once upon a time’ topic: we had an amazing day filled with activities!
The children helped the Little Red Hen bake some bread, built a bridge for the Three Billy Goats Gruff and found Cinderella's lost slipper using maps, compasses and reading directions!

Tennyson Win Sports Day!
Published 20/06/25Today, was an absolutely fantastic example of what makes John Clare so brilliant. We are super proud of all of our children for trying their hardest and striving for their personal best in today’s Sports Day. Tennyson were this year's winning house team, followed very closely by Rosetti, then Wordsworth and finally Keats. Well done everyone for a fabulous day!
